Annual Flying Stars

A new flying star chart has to be prepared every year. The Annual Star Chart for 2012 is shown above.

The Stars exert their influence strongest if they are at your house entrance, living room, bedroom, your animal palace, and your trigram palace.

The charts showing the animal palace and trigram palace are for your easy reference.

The concept of the Five Elements is often applied in feng shui enhancement or cures. The types of interactions between two Elements are as follows:

· The Productive Cycle

Metal produced Water - Water nurtured Wood - Wood made Fire - Fire gave rise to Earth - Earth created Metal.

· The Counteraction Cycle

Metal cut Wood - Wood broke Earth - Earth absorbed Water - Water extinguished Fire - Fire melted Metal

· The Dissipation Cycle

Water dissipated Metal - Metal dissipated Earth - Earth dissipated Fire - Fire dissipated Wood - Wood dissipated Water

When subduing bad stars, the preferred method is by dissipation, rather than counteraction.

Analysis of the Stars

SOUTH - Li Palace

Flying Star - #One White Star (Water Element) plus “San Sha”

This sector is partly auspicious and partly inauspicious because it has a lucky star, as well as under the ill influence of the “San Sha” (三煞) or “The 3-Killings”.

The No. One Star is the “Distant Prosperous Star” and a romance star. It is also favourable for education.

Unfortunately, the “San Sha” is also in the South, from 142.5º - 217.5º (including part of Southeast and Southwest). It can cause physical injuries, sickness, financial loss or conflicts.

It is considered very unlucky to be sitting or sleeping in the “San Sha” spot. Try to reduce activities in this area.

During the year, any ground-breaking or renovation in this sector, both indoor or outdoor, will be very detrimental to your household. If there is construction work at the South direction outside your house, beware of any injury or accident.

From the five element aspect, the Water Element of No. One Star clashes with the Fire Element of the South. Such a combination can cause eye problem, heart-related problems or miscarriage.

Do not decorate this sector with Fire Element objects, e.g. fire colour or triangular-shaped items.

Recommended enhancement

· Use Metal Element to strengthen the Star. Examples: brass Wu Lou, dragon-turtle, 6-rod wind chime.

· Use Water Element colours (e.g. blue, black) to decorate this sector.

· For education luck, display an abacus, calligraphy set, brushes, etc.

· Display 3 brass qi lin (chi lin) in the “San Sha” sector to dissipate its ill effects.

NORTH - Kan Palace

Flying Star - #Two Black Sickness Star (Earth Element)

The No. Two Star is a “Illness Star”. It can cause epidemics, illnesses and, sometimes, even misfortunes. Avoid sitting or sleeping in this sector.

Ground-breaking, construction or renovation work in the North (both indoor and outdoor) during the year is detrimental to the household.

Recommended cures

· Avoid having Fire energy and Earth energy in this sector. Examples: candles, bright lights, red-coloured furnishings, objects that are of red or earth colours, triangular or sharp items, crystals

· Display metal objects to neutralize the negative influence of the Star. Examples: 8-Immortal Wu Lou, six-rod wind chime, Wu Lou, singing bowl, dragon, chi lin, and six ancient Chinese coins.

SOUTHWEST - Kun Palace

Flying Star - #Three Jade Star or Dispute Star (Wood Element)

This is a troublesome sector as the combination of flying stars is known as “Bull Fighting Sha”. It can trigger off malicious gossips, rumour-mongering, back-stabbing, arguments, conflicts, thefts, or even lawsuits.

Ground-breaking, construction, and renovation (both indoor and outdoor) should be avoided in Southwest during the year.

The person sleeping in this sector will be easily stressed and become agitated, impatient and short-fused, resulting in weak interpersonal relationship.

Recommended cures

· Use mainly the Fire Element to dissipate the negative energy of the Star. Examples: candles, lamps, lights, fire colour floor mat, and any red decorative items.

· Do not use Metal Element or Water Element (e.g. water fountain), unless advised by a professional feng shui practitioner.

· Objects that create noise or vibration (e.g. TV, fan, machines) should not be placed in this sector. Always keep this area quiet.

EAST - Zhen Palace

Flying Star - #Four Green Scholastic Star (Wood Element)

This sector is auspicious as the No. Four Star is often associated with academic success and romance. It governs education, romance, career, academic talents, and interpersonal relationship.

Spend more time in the East during the year if you want to enhance romance or academic pursuits.

Recommended enhancement

· Avoid using the Fire Element (e.g. red colour objects) or Metal Element (e.g. wind chime) in this sector.

· Use Wood Element (e.g. plants) and Water Element (e.g. water fountain, clear crystal quartz) to strengthen the Star.

· The Wen Chang Pagoda is the favourite feng shui item to enhance education luck or academic career. To improve interpersonal relationship, put a vase filled with fresh water.

· For students, put the study desk in this sector. Growing four stalks of bamboo in water is recommended.

· For the singles or unmarried, hang a scroll of blooming flowers picture to enhance tao hua (romance).

SOUTHEAST - Xun Palace

Flying Star - #Five Yellow Disaster Star (Earth Element) plus Tai Sui (Grand Duke Jupiter)

This sector is definitely the most inauspicious with the No. Five Yellow Star, coupled with Tai Sui that occupies “Chen Mountain” (辰山) of Southeast.

The No. Five Yellow Star is the most powerful and menacing star among the unlucky stars. When disturbed, its malicious influence can lead to catastrophic bad luck such as major loss of wealth, lawsuits, illnesses, mishaps, or even tragedy.

It is very crucial to keep this area quiet and not have noisy activities in this sector. Any noise and vibration from machines, drilling, hammering or knocking can trigger off the harmful effects of this Star.

Ground-breaking, building work, renovations, maintenance work or refurbishment in Southeast (indoor and outdoor) must be avoided at all costs during the year. If there is construction work in the Southeast outside your house, it might trigger off some disasters.

Stillness, together with feng shui cures, can keep its destructive influences at bay.

Recommended cures

· Avoid having Fire energy or Earth energy in this sector. Examples: candles, bright lights, red-coloured furnishings, red or earth colors objects, triangular and sharp decorative items, crystals.

· Use colours like grey, blue or white for this sector during the year.

· Use decorative items that are white, silver, gold or copper colours.

· Place objects of Metal Element, such as six-rod wind chime, Wu Lou, dragon, pi yao (pi siu), qi lin (chi lin), singing bowl or six Chinese ancient coins. (Note: Sharp or menacing-looking metal items should not be used.)

· As Tai Sui occupies112.5º - 127.5º of the Southeast sector, never sit facing this 15º sector during the year.

CENTRE (not associated with any trigram)

Flying Star - #Six White Wuqu Wealth Star (Metal Element)

This is a fortune spot for unexpected wealth or windfalls.

The No. Six Star signifies military nobility. Hence, it is very favourable for those having a career in the military force, police force, fire-fighting service, security service, etc.

It also has influence on yima (e.g. travel, immigration, change of job, removal).

Avoid Fire Element and Water Element in this area.

Recommended enhancement

Being in the centre, the No. Six Star is considered “imprisioned” and needs to be energized.

Use Earth Element or Metal Element. Examples: Ru-yi scepter, crystals, crystal balls, treasure pot, qi lin.

NORTHWEST - Qian Palace

Flying Star - #Seven Red Po Jun Star (Metal Element) plus Sui Po (Year Break)

This is an inauspicious sector wherein lies the No. Seven Star, with Sui Po at the “Shu Mountain” (戍山), 292.5º - 307.5º of Northwest sector. No ground-breaking, construction or renovation work to be carried out in the Northwest during the year. This includes both indoor and outdoor.

The No. Seven Star in the current Period 8 is an outdated wealth star, symbolizing outdated thinking, ageing, decline in power or influence, or handover of power. It has a blinding effect on a person’s thinking or performance.

It is also a violent star signifying some danger involving metal arms or injury by sharp metal object.

Keep this sector quiet. If Sui Po is disturbed, it can cause health problems, especially for the elderly or sick.

Recommended cures

· Avoid Earth Element and Fire Element in this sector. Examples: earth and fire colours, crystals, candles, sharp or triangular objects.

· Use Water Element to weaken the violent energy of the Star. Examples: blue, grey, or black colour furnishings or decorative items.

· Do not sit at the Sui Po location, but if unavoidable, sit facing it.

WEST (Dui Palace)

Flying Star - #Eight White Star or Wealth Star (Earth Element)

This is the most auspicious fortune sector, with the Wealth Star of the current Period 8.

The No. Eight Star governs wealth, prosperity, career, and success. It is favourable for property investment and business venture. Store your important financial papers (e.g. stock portfolio) in this sector.

Do not place too much metal objects in this sector as it will weaken the Earth Element of the Star.

Although wealth is indicated, do not overwork as this can cause you stress-related health problem.

Recommended enhancement

· Use Fire Element or Earth Element to strengthen the Star. Examples: standing lamp, fire colour furnishings or decorative items, amethyst geode, crystal ball, ru-yi, crystal trees, wealth god statue.

· Place a three-legged toad with coin in mouth facing inwards.

NORTHEAST – (Gen Palace)

Flying Star - #Nine Purple Star (Fire Element)

This is another fortune sector as the No. Nine Star is the Sheng Qi or Future Prosperous Star in Period 8. It signifies joyous, celebrative occasions such as career opportunities, promotion, romance, newborn, and so forth.

Recommended enhancement

· Use Wood Element (e.g. green leafy plants) to energize the Star.

· Auspicious item such as brass pi siu, qi lin, Wen Chang Pagoda, 8-Immortal Wu Lou, feng shui toad, dragon-turtle, etc. can also be displayed.

Other evaluation factors

The above is just a general analysis of the Flying Stars in the respective sectors for the year 2012.

Other important factors that need to be taken into consideration include landform, and the combination of the ‘facing’ and ‘siting’ stars of the property’s Natal Flying Stars Chart.

The Water Dragon Year

This year is the Year of the Water Dragon. Chinese New Year’s Day falls on Monday, 23 January 2012. However, the influence of the Water Dragon Year will only take effect from Saturday, 4 February 2012, which is the Li Chun (立春) (Spring Day).

Choose an auspicious date before Li Chun to put your feng shui items in the respective sectors.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone prosperity, happiness, good health and success throughout the Dragon Year!
